“The installation has been a real hit with both the teachers and children!"
Dino Di Salvo, Acting Principal
“The new projector has really transformed lessons. Children love the fact they can come up and get involved. The new learning space has encouraged more teachers to come in and use the shared area and now it’s being used more effectively.”
Adam Burn, ICT Systems Manager
“This is a relatively large space with a lot of natural light. Despite this, the projector delivers a good strong image with vibrant colour. I am also impressed with the speed of power up compared to our whiteboard projectors. This is especially useful when we are given short notice of its use, as some staff are prone to do.”
Adam Burn, ICT Systems Manager

The Challenge

Kettering Buccleuch Academy wanted to create its Classroom of the Future with the latest Full HD interactive ultra short throw projector at its heart.

The shared use classroom would be used for primary students for cookery and arts and crafts, with creative ideas shared and saved through the smart projector.

The Solution

The academy installed the EH320USTi, which at 4,000 lumens, is one of the brightest ultra-short throw projectors on the market, making it perfect for the bright airy classroom. Its Full HD resolution and ultra-short throw lens create a huge vivid picture without any shadows cast from the presenter. It can project a 100 inch image (diagonal) from just 55cm from the screen.

Engineered with a new generation of TouchBeam finger-touch interactive technology, several people can work simultaneously on the screen without using a pen. TouchBeam makes it easy to draw, annotate, zoom and rotate images on the projected image. Presenters can open documents or web browsers and interact with content without the need of a computer.

It has a range of input options, including two HDMI inputs and two VGA inputs, making switching between Blu-ray player, computer or other sources simply the push of a button. They also have networking capabilities that make it easy to manage the projectors remotely via RJ45.  Compatible Crestron RoomView® software can be used to power on/off, monitor, manage and control up to 250 projectors at the same time from any computer.  This allows IT technicians to monitor the projectors remotely and avoids wasting lamp hours by leaving them running all night.

The Results

Dino Di Salvo, Acting Principal, said: “The installation has been a real hit with both the teachers and children!

“It also gives us an extra space where presentations and events from external partners can be hosted."

Already the school has hosted presentations from the WE Movement, a charity that empowers change with resources that create sustainable impact. Kettering Buccleuch Academy is running the WE at School programme that helps children recognise that everyone can make a positive impact – whether that’s volunteering, fundraising or raising awareness for causes that matter.
